It was, in a quote often attributed to Yogi Berra, like "deja vu all over again."
Cousn Brucie left WABC for rival WNBC a few months after this aircheck was made, seemingly never to return again. But return he did when WABC - under new ownership - decided to restore Brucie to his old stomping grounds. The Cuz would host Saturday nights from 6-10 p.m. and and celebrated his 90th birthday as an employee of the station in 2025.
Brucie got his start in radio in 1957 at ZBM Bermuda. He moved to New York two years later at WINS New York. After a brief segue at WINZ Miami he returned to the Big Apple in 1961 to begin a 13-year stay in the evening shift at WABC. This is where he really established his legend and it was a shocker when he moved to rival WNBC in middays (!) in 1974. The Cuz joined several of his WABC pals at WCBS-FM in 1982. He jumped to Sirius in 2005. Fifteen years later, Bruce Morrow was back at WABC, spinning the same tunes he did at the station more than 60 years ago.
