Even Shakespeare is part of the lore of Top 40 radio.

Case in point: The memorable WABC commercials for Dennison Clothiers "where money talks and nobody walks."

The live reads were written in iambic pentameter, just like the Bard of Avon, as William Shakespeare was known. Though difficult to read, Charlie Greer made them shine.

Greer was WABC's all-night jock through much of the '60s. Other jocks did the show after he left in 1969, but the Dennison commercials are mostly associated with Greer. One of those classic Dennison commercials can be found in this aircheck below.
