Terry
David Mulligan was a west coast legend, but he did have
a brief stay in Toronto radio.
Mulligan, a former Mountie who got the radio bug after visiting Hal Weaver at CKRD in Red Deer, Alberta, came to Ontaro's capital in 1969 to host "The Open Lid" at CKFH. This show, a progressive rock program that mirrored what many FM stations were starting to do at the time, eventually led to him heading over to 'FH's higher-rated rival, the legendary CHUM. Mulligan spent a couple a months there before returning to Vancouver where he flourished in radio, TV. film and print. His biography "Mulligan's Stew" is available online.
Brian Skinner is heard in a commercial on this aircheck. The Prez would leave CHUM after six memorable years in the summer of '69 and later teach school in Seattle.
