Not one, not two, but three WKBW personalities got a San Francisco treat when they were asked to move west in 1962.

At the direction of WKBW's owner Clinton Churchill, Tommy Saunders was transferred to KYA San Francisco along with Russ Syracuse and Larry Brownell. Saunders would stay in the City by the Bay for the next 43 years, until his retirement in 2005. His stops included KYA, KGO, KSFX, KSFO and KOIT. Saunders, Syracuse and Brownell are all in the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame after long stays in San Francisco radio.

Also heard on this aircheck is Johnny Hayes, a veteran of west coast radio whose long career included three tours of KRLA Los Angeles. He retired in the 2000s but not before being awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
