He was "The Boy Next Door, ruler of "The Land of Fa."
Born October 17, 1935 in Pelham, New York, Harv Moore got his radio start in 1961 at WFKY in Frankfort, Kentucky. His big break came in 1963 when he was hired at Washington, D.C.'s legendary WPGC, where he was "Morning Mayor: for 12 menorable years. He introduced the Beatles on-stage for their first U.S. concert appearance at the Washington Coliseum in 1964. Known on-air as "The Boy Next Door", Moore rose to the positions of music director and program director at WPGC.
Moore's next - and as it turned out final stop was Buffalo, where he was hired as morning DJ and program director and WYSL-AM and sister station WPHD-FM in 1975. From 1978 to 1989 he teamed with Robert W. Taylor as the "Breakfast Flakes" who creations included the mythical "Land of Fa."
Moore later jocked at Oldies 104 (WHTT-FM) at WECK, from where he ended his 59-year radio career in 2020. He died December 21, 2025, just two months after his 90th birthday.
