Be it radio or television, Bob Sirott has been a Chicago instution for over half a century.

Sirott got his radio start in 1971 as a summer fill-in jock at WBBM-FM. He moved to WLS in 1973 for a six-year stay at "The Big 89." Then it was on to television, where he had stints at WBBM, WMAQ, WFLD and WTTV, along with CBS-TV and the Marquee Sports Network. He has also done two stints at WGN-AM.

Also heard on this aircheck is Lyle Dean, literally the "Dean" of Chicago radio news. He started in radio 1957 at KGEK Stirling, Col. Eleven years later, he was anchoring at WLS, starting April 5, 1968, the day after Martin Luther King was assassinated. He later added newscasts on American Contemporary Network to his duties. Dean left WLS in 1977 for the news director's job at WFYR-FM. He moved to WGN in 1984, gradually scaling back his workload until he retired in 2006.
