KDWB-AM played its first record as a Top 40 station in 1959, and the hits have never stopped.
The station with the Seven Swingin' Gentleman was a dominant force in the Twin Cities throughout the '60s and '70s. Its popular jocks included True Don Bleu, Hal Murray, Bob Shannon, Lou Riegert, Chuck Buell and Rob Sherwood.
Also playing Top 40 music, beginning in 1976, was KDWB-AM's sister station KDWB-FM. With FM gaining populariry due to its superior sound, KDWB-AM faded in popularity and went off the air in 1994. KDWB-FM picked up the torch and continued the KDWB tradition of playing the hits.
Bill Gardner was heard on KDWB-AM in the early '70s, one of many radio stops for this very accomplished jock. His long list of credits includes one Canadian station, CFTR Toronto. More details on Gardner's amazing career can be found here.
