A native of Lexington, Virginia, Keith James, Jr. spent a decade at the Rock of Edmonton in the '70s and early '80s. His father Keith James Sr. preceded him at CHED beginning in 1964.
The younger James was program director at CHED, one of the first stations in North America to have a computerized music scheduling system. He became vice-president of programming for all seven Moffat stations, including CKXL, the Calgary station he jocked at prior to CHED.
After CHED, James worked at CFAC Calgary, and later at Edmonton stations CISN-FM, CJCA, CFRN-AM (news) and CFMG-FM.
