Forced to step back from radio in 2013 because of Huntington's Disease, "Jungle" Jay Hamilton left behind an amazing legacy.
Only 17 at the time, Hamilton first dipped his toes in the radio waters in 1974 at CFSL in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Four years later he hit the big time at legendary Edmonton station CHED. Hamilton ruled the Edmonton airwaves for many years in the evening shift, even as AM music radio's influence began to fade in the '80s.
Hamilton later landed at Power 92 (CKNG-FM) in Edmonton, and capped his career by doing weekends at Capital FM (CKRA-FM) in Edmonton. HIs resume also includes CKSA Lloydminster, Alberta and CHAB Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
