Rare is the talent that goes straight from college to the bigs. Even rarer is one who stays there for 40 years. Ingrid Schumacher is both.

Fresh out of Fanshawe College, Schumacher began her professional radio career at CHUM-FM - one of Canada's most listened to stations - in 1977.

After a time in afternoon drive, Schumacher moved to the all-night show then took over middays. All told she spent 40 years at 1331 Yonge before the station let her go in 2017.

Now retired from professional broadcasting, Schumacher can be heard on Northumberland 89.7 with "In The Garden."

Also heard on Part 2 of this aircheck: Lee "Beef" Eckley. In addition to CHUM-FM, Eckley's resume includes Q-107 and CFNY-FM in Toronto and 94.7 The Rock in Oshawa, Ontario.
