Music was always central to Tom Kent's life and career.

As a jock, Kent starred on such stations as WLS Chicago, KLIF Dallas, KFJZ Fort Worth, WIBG Philadelphia, WGCL and WIXY Cleveland, WMXJ Miami, WAVA-FM Washington, D.C., WIBG Philadelphia and WBZZ Pittsburgh.

As a syndicator - as head of the Tom Kent Radio Network - the North Carolina native presided over a company that produced programming for some 600 radio stations, in numerous formats including classic hits and adult contemporary.

Kent also worked in the music business, as a promotion executive for Elektra Entertainment, with such acts as Tracy Chapman, Simply Red, En Vogue, Missy Elliott and Metallica.
